Yuletide Letter 2024

Hello! It's the most wonderful time of the year again, thank you for writing for me! I haven't participated in Yuletide for several years now (as you can probably tell by the sorry state of this blog, rip)  I'm excited to get back into it. Writing for someone you may not know is daunting, so I've put some of my general likes/dislikes and more info about the pairings I requested under the cut.  I'm sure I'll enjoy reading whatever you come up with, and I hope you enjoy creating it! 


General Likes: I'm fine with getting fic of any rating, so if smut is what you want to write, go for it. In general I'm a big fan of established relationship fic too, both in canon, and outside of it. I love all iterations of fake dating, rivals to lovers, arranged marriages, marriages of convenience, woke up married, epistolary fic, sex pollen, comedies of remarrraige, casefic, relationship negotiation, fairytale/myth retellings, secretly already dating, crossdressing/lingerie, time loop aus, and close-to-cannon/canon divergence au's. Fics that take the canon of a story and and explore missed opportunities or "what if's" are some of my absolute favorites! 

General Dislikes: Infidelity, omegaverse fic, high school au's, vampires, dark!fic, student/teacher, mpreg fic, coming out angst, main character death (temporary ~plot reason~ stuff is fine, i.e. for time loops). Some angst/hurt is fine, I just prefer it to be balanced out in the end with comfort! Also for smut: we really don't have to do the whole traffic system thing, if they just say "stop" when they need to stop. 

Specific Fandoms! These sections are things that I'd like to see, but they are optional for you to include/not include as a writer. The prompts are there in case you maybe need an idea to get started. Write the story that is in your heart!

→→→ Hanakoi Tsurane

This comic is a mix of very sweet ''first love'' shojou romance and workplace comedy? Both main characters are such ridiculous people, and somehow very sweet together. I love them supporting each other in their acting, and figuring out their relationship together as a team (of idiots). Sougo's early pining was delicious, but I'm also a big fan of them figuring out their established relationship as high profile actors. Their dramatic but ultimately extremely caring personalities really suit the ~high school first love~ tone of the first half of the comic, and there's strong groundwork for a lot of comedy hijinks. 

Prompts: 

1) More of Sougo and Gensuke's high school shenanigans! Maybe related to school events, like a sports festival or a school trip.  

2) Future fic that checks in later in their careers! The manga ends with them reaching mainstream popularity in their careers, so maybe some magazine interview or a TV appearance? I'm also obsessed with Sougo's foray into acting for shitty teen dramas, so anything with that is an automatic winner to me. 


→→→ The Goblin Emperor

I've read both the original novel and the more recent Celehar-focused novels so please feel free to pull from the canon of either (or both). I'd really prefer to stay in the world of the canon here, but am very enthusiastic about canon divergent au's! There are so many threads to pull from between Maia's ascent to the throne, and Celehar's whole career. Please don't worry too much about strict fidelity to the systems or titles of things in the novels, I don't want anyone to feel they have to do a bunch of research to write for this fandom! 

Prompts: 

1) The supernatural slice of life/casefic vibe of the Cemeteries of Amalo series really work for me. Maybe just Celehar having a nice day where nothing traumatic happens??? Iana deserves to spoil him a little. 

2) Canon au where instead of having a very bad time at Tethemar's estate Csevet gets sent to Endonomee on a delivery and meets Maia. 

→→→ KJ Charles' England Series

The ending of Think of England leaves the door open for so many fun things! Archie and Daniel get partnered together, there's a mole somewhere in the department, they're in the pre-WWI era heyday of European spies (the Great Game) and can travel pretty much anywhere in Europe. To say nothing of Fen and Pat, who solve crimes by flying under the radar and can sneak into places Archie and Daniel would never be allowed.  

Prompts: 

1)  Post-canon Archie and Daniel going on cases! We get such a wonderful setup for their continuing adventures at the end of the novel, I'd love to see what kind of spy assignments come their way. 

2) A team-up with Fen/Pat and Archie/Daniel, maybe some fake dating for spying purposes? 

→→→ Mysterious Lotus Casebook

This show has everything I love: secret identities, detectives, beautiful historical clothing, martial arts, mysterious magical artefacts, coup attempts, and three beautiful idiots living in the world's coolest mobile home. I'd really love to stay in the world of this canon (no American college au's please) because the possibilities for building outward with the magic and martial arts systems are so limitless! 

Prompts: 

1) LI LIANHUA ALIVE I don't care how just bring my boy back. 

2) OT3 with Li Lianhua/Fang Doubing/Di Feisheng. They really only have one braincell between them, and Li Lianhua has it most of the time. I love their slapstick identity hiding nonsense earlier in the series, and I think they suit a romcom style well. Plus, they're awash in magic items to help put them in stupid situations while they fall in love.
