Yuletide Letter 2017

Dear Author, 

Hello! First things first: thank you for writing for me! I know that this time of year is a busy time for everyone, but you still signed up to write for Yuletide and I think that's beautiful :') I'm sure I'll enjoy reading whatever you come up with, and I hope you enjoy creating it! Writing for someone you may not know is daunting though, so I've put some of my general likes/dislikes and more info about the pairings I requested under the cut. 

General Likes: I'm a huge sucker for all sorts of au's! I love seeing how the original canon can be remixed, and I adore stacking tropes on top of each other. Some of my favorites are spy au's, royalty au's, myths/legends/fairytale au's, magic au's,and space au's. I'm a big fan of established relationship fic too, both in canon, and outside of it. I love all iterations of Fake Dating, whether it be for Spy Reasons, or I Need To Impress My Ex Reasons. Secret Dating, Clothes Sharing,  Found Family, and Magical Realism are all faves too. I'm fine with getting fic of any rating, so if smut is what you want to write, go for it. 

General Dislikes: Infidelity, werewolves/ABO fic, age difference, high school au's, vampires, dark!fic, student/teacher, Coming Out angst, and anything that interferes with the ability of one party to consent (i.e. amnesia, possession, slave!fic)

Specific Fandoms! These sections are things that I'd like to see, but they are optional for you to include/not include as a writer. The prompts are there in case you maybe need an idea to get started. Write the story that is in your heart!

HAHA. Listen....it's 2017. I'm still thinking about this series. The terrible fashion! The Film Noir aesthetics! The creepy imagery! I think the atmosphere is what keeps me coming back to this series. Whether you choose to diverge from canon, make this a modern au or not, or make Seishiro a regularly creepy dude instead of A Serial Killer Who Banged His Mom, I'm hoping that there's still some of that original TB flavor!  (AND THE HATS. God, I love the hats. All the clothes Hokuto wears or forces Subaru into are amazing & I'm always a fan of Subaru cross-dressing or in ambiguously gendered clothing. Or a pope hat. Remember the pope hat?) Also: Hokuto & Subaru's relationship is really interesting to me! I love seeing fic that explores what it would've been like for them growing up together

Prompts: 

1) Seishiro gets a Twitter. Seishiro gets a Tumblr. Seishiro on any sort of social media is a constant source of delight for me. 

2) CROSS DRESSING SUBARU. TWIN SHENANIGANS.

I LOVE? DANIEL DA SILVA? My feeling on this book are entirely incoherent shrieking about gothic murder-houses, pulp novel trope subversion, Archie being the dumbest, sweetest Griffindor to ever Griffindor, and eleventh-hour lesbians saving the entire goddamn day. I really love the period setting for these books, though I would be interested to see what an AU of this series that shifted things in time/space would look like? 



Prompts: 
1) Fen and Pat doing LITERALLLY ANYTHING, I adore them and want them to have to have all the brilliant adventures! I'm super into crossovers with other properties set in the same time (I'm looking at YOU, Miss Fisher crossover!)  but would also happily read 100000 words of curtain!fic
2) Mission Fic for Archie/Daniel? We get such a wonderful setup for their continuing adventures at the end of the novel, I'd love to see what sort of assignments come their way.

AFTER ALL THIS TIME? The feelings....they won't let me rest....canon for this series is so delicious and twisty and I'd be delighted to get something pre-the events of episode one (where everything is still happy, and everyone is alive, sob sob) BUT I will also take any and all MCS Lives Fic, or sweet modern aus, or whatever your heart desires! I'd also be super down for a fic that indulges in MCS's identity shenanigans, You've Got Mail style. However! I would like to avoid pressing down on the giant feelings bruise that is the end of the series and descending into complete angst, if that's good? I know LYB fandom is built from the tears of others but can we have happy holiday time amnesty? Would also be very happy to read Jingyan/MCS in all forms (pre-canon, post canon, au where they're sent to space, idk)  as well as Jingrui/Yujin, Nihuang/Xia Dong, Nihuang/Gong Yu!

Prompts: 

1) A FRUITS BASKET AU. Don't look at me. (Jingyan is the Ox, obviously. MCS is...the Cat?)

2) Nihuang takes Mei Changsu's advice and takes on a maid who can double as a personal bodyguard, aka Gong Yu. 

3) JINGRUI GETS A HAPPY ENDING. THAT BOY HAS SUFFERED SO MUCH PLEASE JUST LET YUJIN SMOOCH HIM GENTLY.

I'm gonna let you finish, but Silas Mason is the greatest Historical Romance lead of all time? 

Prompts: 

1) Silas & David & Julian's friendship post-A Gentleman's Position. They're such an odd group, I'm constantly delighted by their interactions.

2) Silas/Dom and their fucking bookclub foreplay! Silas loved Frankenstein! Blake gives Dom a boner! Incredible.

Oh man! I love this series, and would be happy to receive fic with any of the canon pairings! (Though I gotta say, I think Radnor and Georgie are my faves) I really love the way Cat Sebastian's couples complement each other--they always seem like two halves that fit together perfectly! I got real teary at the end of Ruin of a Rake, when they were all in the same room together. I'd love to see interactions between characters from different couples in that vein! 


Prompts: 

1) RADNOR SPOILING GEORGIE WITH NICE THINGS. Look, we all know Georgie has Expensive Tastes, and Radnor has already proven in canon that he's READY and WILLING to, say, loan Georgie the ancestral diadem for a Very Special Night In. It's rough out there in the country! Let Georgie have beautiful things and feel pretty!

2) After finishing Ruin of a Rake, all I truly crave is more Julian Medlock competence porn. Watching him put Courtenay's life in order is so satisfying, I'd love to see him organizing for Courtenay's appearance in the House of Lords, maybe by talking to some of the other characters *coughJackcough* with better knowledge of the impact their reforms might have.
